Adsorption of Cu 2+ by modified silica aerogel

خلاصه مقاله:
In this research adsorption of copper by silica aerogel was investigated. Silica aerogel was synthesized by sol-gel process in the base of TEOS (tetraethylorthosilicat) precursor and suitable surface chemical modification agent. The surface modified silica aerogels was studied using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). As the obtained results Indicates the synthesized aerogel is capable to uptake up to )60% of Cu2+ from 100-400 ppm of aqueous solutions. The effect of different parameters such as pH, contact time and adsorbent dose were studied and optimized, the optimal pH value of ), contact time of 2- hours and adsorbent dose of 3gr was optiand.
