خلاصه مقاله:
An experiment was performed using male rats to investigate the effect and ability of 2-(2-(2-aminophenyl) disulfanyl) benzenamine (L1) to remove zinc ions from blood and body organs following the administration of zinc chloride. Two groups of rats were given zinc orally at a daily dose of 40 and 60 mg Zn+2 /kg body weight for 60 days. After this period, all the rats that were administered to zinc were severely anemic and showed toxicity symptoms through an increase in zinc and a decrease in iron level in blood and certain organs. The ability of 2- (2-(2-aminophenyl) disulfanyl) benzenamine (L1) to remove zinc has been investigated by injecting of this chelator to the rats for one week. The results showed that the zinc level existent in the blood and organs was significantly reduced and, at the same time, the iron concentration returned to the normal level. By this investigation we conclude that treatment with L1 at the given dose rate is safe to be used for chelation in zinc excessively loaded rats and can remove this ion from the body.
