Chemical Synthesis of One-Dimensional Nanostructure

This article provides a review of current research activities that concentrate on one-dimensional nanostructures -wires, rods, belts, and tubes-. We devote the most attention to 1D nanostructures that have been synthesized by chemical method. We elaborate four strategies to achieve 1D growth in the following four section: 1)anisotropic growth dictated by the crystallographic structure of a solid metal; 2) directed by various template 3) The use of appropriate capping agent; 4) new concepts not yet fully demonstrated, but with long – term potential in generating 1D nanostructures. By the end of this article, describe unique properties (e.g themal, electronic, optical, and field emission) associated with 1D nanostructures.
